POSITION OVERVIEW:  Direct responsibility for the general ledger, financial statement preparation, and annual budget compilation.  Works closely with all accounting and finance personnel to ensure overall accurate accounting.


This is how you'll be spending your time...

  • Preparing monthly journal entries.
  • Completing several diverse accounting assignments related to the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Preparing monthly sales tax returns.
  • Completing assignments from the finance management team as required.
  • Assisting in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including "Actual vs. Budget" and "Current vs. Previous" variance reports. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
  • Utilizing your strong database analytical skills working with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching. Advanced skills in the use of data acquisition, mining, analysis, metrics management and reporting.
  • Reviewing, evaluating, and assisting in the revision, design, and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinating work with other departments and managers; may coordinate accounting functions with IT department to resolve issues and support achievement of business goals.
  • Ensuring accurate reporting for the general ledger and financial account reconciliations.
  • Preparing monthly financial statements and interfaces with corporate and branch personnel to ensure full understanding.
  • Assisting with the compilation of annual budget.
  • Writing ERP reports as required.


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Must have advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and other office products. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.
