SUMMARY

The individual works on the Customer Care Center Help Desk according to duties listed below. They provide superior customer service and support, using telephone, e-mail, and web-based remote access communication. They will support devices in an environment that is primarily Xerox multi-function and various desktop printers.  Additionally, they will work closely with branch sales, service and support partners to satisfy customer issues.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Customer Care Center Help Desk

  • Provides phone and remote support to internal and external customers
  • Troubleshoots problems with Xerox Multifunction Printers, computer hardware and applications, and routine network issues
  • Installation of printer drivers on local workstations and servers via remote software
  • Scanning setup(SMB/FTP/Email) via remote software
  • Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voicemail, email, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, printer functionality, and other connected product issues
  • Accurately logs and tracks calls using problem management database, and maintains history records and related problem documentation
  • Provides problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user
  • Completes general administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) in electronics, computer science or computer networking, or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS                                                  

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of and the ability to learn the following:

  • Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7,8, 10 and Servers)
  • Mac OS
  • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP. DHCP)
  • Firewall and anti-virus(Windows and third-party)

Familiarity with the following is beneficial but not required:

  • Knowledge of hubs, routers, and switches
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Knowledge of Unix and Linux
  • SQL

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A+ or Net+ beneficial but not required.
