Position's Supervisory Report: Team Service Manager

Payroll Status: Hourly

Hours: 8:00-4:30 Monday Friday

 

Major goals and responsibilities

 

The Field Service Technician position is the heart and soul of our service department. As a field service technician you should be able to work with minimal supervision, maintain proficiency on all models assigned, and continually strive to improve your client relationship skills.

 

 Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Work well with dispatch, fellow technicians, sales and administration
  • Demonstrate good territory management skills
  • Proficient service and support of all equipment assigned
  • Communicate well with Customers and Team Service Managers on problem equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and/or A+ certification
  • Handle basic connectivity issues, installing software, and demonstrating some basic network knowledge
  • Demonstrate good customer skills
  • Attend and pass formal training, manufacturer or in house as assigned
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and proficiency of any equipment the Technician  has been trained on
  • Complete paper work accurately and on time
  • Represent Martin Whalen, our products and services, in a positive professional manner. 

 

 3.PRODUCTS INVOLVED IN THIS JOB

 Training and experience with Xerox, Canon, Kyocera, Lexmark, or other copier, printer, and fax product lines is desirable

 6.PRIMARY PEOPLE CONTACTS

This person will directly report to the Team Service Manager, additionally, contact will be made with service support specialist, service manager, company owners, sales manger, sales personnel, service technicians and delivery personnel.  There will also be direct contact made every day with external current and potential clients.

 7.BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS, ATTITUDES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Candidates should possess a strong work ethic and have a track record of personal growth and development. This person should be self-motivated, enjoy working with people and share the common goal of always putting our clients first.

 8.PREREQUISITES

  • Previous experience servicing digital and analog office equipment; B&W and/or Color systems is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with excellent driving record; Automobile with appropriate insurance.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and/or A+ certification
  • Working knowledge of network connectivity

 9.TOUGHEST PART OF THE JOB

 As a field service technician, you will troubleshoot, repair and maintain our client's equipment to the high standard that they have come to expect from Martin Whalen. You will handle basic network issues and install software when the situation requires it. You must keep in communication at all times to ensure our clients are given the attention and quality service they deserve and expect.

  Salary will be commensurate with the experience level and career path. Bonus opportunities may also be available.
